Bright - thanks for your contribution. I don't know that I'm talking about "real evangelists" -- indeed, I'm keener on talking about the fake kind -- or at least those evangelists who are willing to use a lot of technique and tradecraft to support whatever divine inspiration they have.

Marketing people use the word "evangelist" a lot, but tend to forget where the word springs from in the first place.

Real evangelists in short are people with a divine calling into the evangelistic office. That is my basic opinion. For more details you can contact me on kusinyalab@yahoo.com

I don't think that the Billy Graham Crusade cared all that much about astroturfing. I think - rather - that they wrote the manual.

You're right to call me on this though, Whatleydude. I'm fascinated by con-men, evangelists, canned laughter and claques right now (I'll post more on this later.)

If you were to represent the consciousness of all the smart people in the game right now, it would probably be long on concepts like "wisdom of crowds", "long tail", "the consumer is in control", "conversation is king", "authenticity rules", "do well by doing good", and so on.

This was a niche that - like so many others - I thought I had cornered a bit of for myself a few years ago.

Now that niche feels a little overcrowded. What's a man to do?
